Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Stashify is published by Tekhnologia Innovations (“we”, “us”), based in Maharashtra, India. For any question about privacy, write to tekhnologiaindia@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. Stashify does not require an account, does not ask for your name or contact details for our use, and does not transmit your content to us or to any third party. We have no server that stores user data.

Stashify itself sends nothing to us. Google’s on-device scanning and text-recognition components (section 5) send Google limited diagnostic data, which is why the Google Play data safety section lists app diagnostics and device identifiers. Your documents are never part of it.

3. Information stored on your device

To work, Stashify keeps the following only on your phone, inside the app’s private storage:

• The documents, photos, scans and files you add, and text read from them so you can search inside them.
• Your sections, subsections, profile names, file title, notes, signatures you place, reminders and app settings.
• Small preview images (thumbnails) of your documents.
• If you set a DigiLocker PIN, a salted one-way hash of it (never the PIN itself).

This information is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. It is not included in Google’s cloud backup; to keep a copy, use Stashify’s own backup folder (Settings › Data). When you move to a new phone with Android’s device-to-device transfer, it is copied across. We cannot access your data or your backups.

4. Permissions and why we ask

Permission	Used for
Camera	Scanning documents with Google’s document scanner (part of Google Play services). Images stay on your device.
Photos and files	Choosing photos, screenshots or files you want to file, through Android’s photo picker and file picker. Stashify only sees the items you pick.
Fingerprint or face unlock	Unlocking DigiLocker and, if you turn it on, the app. Biometrics are handled entirely by Android; Stashify never receives your fingerprint or face data.
Microphone	Speak to search, only while you hold the microphone button. Speech is turned into text by Android’s speech recognition, on the device where your phone supports it.
Notifications	Telling you when a reading timer ends, and showing progress while a big import or backup runs.

Every permission is optional. You can change them at any time in Android Settings › Apps › Stashify › Permissions.

5. On-device processing and AI

Stashify reads text in photos and scans with Google’s ML Kit text recognition, which runs on your phone. The document scanner is provided by Google Play services and also runs on your phone. These Google components may send Google limited diagnostic information about how they perform (device model and Android version, app version, a per-installation identifier that does not identify you, speed and error codes), which never includes your documents, images or their text, under Google’s Privacy Policy. Stashify suggests sections, filing places, titles and summaries with built-in rules on the device. We do not send your documents or their text to any AI service.

6. Purchases

Stashify Plus and the one-time extras (the Leather Collection and logo embossing) are sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never receive your payment details or Google account information. The app checks with Google Play, on your device, which purchases are active. Google’s handling of purchases is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy.

7. Widgets, shortcuts and the Quick Settings tile

If you add Stashify widgets, the app saves a small summary on your device for them to display: your file title, document counts, and the titles and previews of recent and pinned documents. DigiLocker documents are never included, not even their names. This summary never leaves your device.

8. Sharing and exporting

Documents leave Stashify only when you choose to export or share them. You decide where they go (for example Gmail, WhatsApp, Quick Share or Files), and the receiving app’s or person’s privacy practices then apply.

9. Keeping and deleting your information

• Deleting a document moves it to Recently Deleted, where it is kept for 30 days so you can recover it, then permanently shredded. You can shred it sooner.
• Archived documents stay on your device until you restore or delete them.
• “Erase this profile” in Settings › Data permanently removes that profile’s documents and sections.
• Uninstalling Stashify removes everything it stored on your phone.

10. Security

Your files are stored in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s app sandbox and device encryption. DigiLocker opens only with your fingerprint, face or PIN and locks itself automatically. Because nothing is stored on our side, there is no account of yours for anyone to breach.

11. Children

Stashify is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK GDPR and US state privacy laws give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Because we do not collect or hold your personal data, the data Stashify uses is already in your hands, and you can view, change, export or delete it inside the app. If you have a question or complaint, contact us at tekhnologiaindia@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change means the app would begin collecting data, we will tell you in the app first.
